About the university

Istinye University in Turkey (İstinye Üniversitesi) is a young private university, founded in 2015 on the European side of Istanbul, the cradle of civilization and cultural openness.

The task of establishing it was undertaken by the Anatolia Foundation to complement its pioneering role in the scientific and medical fields and to document a new success story in this field. Therefore, Istinye University was the result of efforts and successes that lasted for more than 23 years.

Signifying the success of the university’s establishment are three brands that were integrated together in the process of establishment and development, namely Liv Hospital, Medical Park and VM Medical Park.

This university is located on the European side of Istanbul, making it the ideal academic destination and the first choice for international and local students. Istinye University in Turkey began its journey in 2016 and at that time included only the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and the Vocational School.

In October of the same year, the university opened its doors to its students who had achieved high grades and had an honorable academic career. This was followed in 2017 by the admission of students to the Faculties of Pharmacy, Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture and the Vocational School.

The university surprised its fans in 2017 by starting its research and development centers to create new products that made a real difference in the field of health and set the limits of science to the sky!

What centers did the university open in the years following 2017?

In parallel with Turkey’s rise in 2017 at the national and international levels, Istinye University in Turkey opened the Istinye Center for Economics and Foreign Policy Studies. In 2018, the College of Engineering was opened, which led to the number of students doubling to approximately 8,000 students.

This was followed by the opening of the Technology Transfer Center, the Institute of Social Sciences, the Center for Applications and Research of Security and Defense Strategies, and the launch of training courses for university graduates and academic staff with the aim of developing the scientific infrastructure. .

Then the opening of the Center Artificial Intelligence Research and Applications, which aims to develop research and applications to benefit from artificial intelligence in medicine, and this is a great achievement for our new generation that is now contemporary with artificial intelligence.

Finally, between 2021-2022, the Media Research Center, the Belt Studies Research and Application Center, the International Sustainability Research Center, the Faculty of Dentistry and Communications, and the Institute of Science and Technology were opened.

Campus

Istinye University in Turkey has two separate campuses, and we will talk in detail about each of them separately:

1-Topkapi Campus

Our description of this campus can be summarized as the meeting point of the Asian and European sides in Turkey, in terms of living, enjoying cultural integration, freedom of movement, etc.

It is considered the main campus of the university and has an area of approximately 46,000 square metres. The campus has a solid technical infrastructure and is easily accessible from anywhere in Istanbul due to its central location in the city. 

It includes many facilities that fully meet the recreational and educational needs of students, and colleges such as the College of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and others.

2-Varid Campus

It is located in the center of the business world in Istanbul and is distinguished by its modern architectural construction and its proximity to transportation, which facilitates the process of transporting students to and from the university.

The Vardi Campus brings together the Faculty of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture, the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, and the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences and Communications.

The campus also includes many facilities that support students’ cultural and recreational activities, such as a library, a sports club, training halls, laboratories, and others.

The mission and vision of the university

The university believes in science and believes in its potential to move society steps forward, so it supports the philosophy that students are the builders of the future. Based on this vision, the university provides huge libraries for its students to provide them with reliable scientific references.

It also constantly updates its references and makes the task of accessing these references easy. Istinye University in Turkey does not skimp on its students by providing an appropriate educational environment supported by technology.

For any university to produce confident students, it must help them hone leadership skills, a belief in the power of science, a follow-up of scientific developments that occur daily, and the skepticism and critical thinking that stimulates the spectrum of creativity. Last but not least, we do not forget that the university has many initiatives in which it supports any activities or events that contribute to building society, encouraging freedom of expression, respect for human values, and other practices that make a university graduate ethical before he holds an academic degree.

The university looks forward to producing and issuing new, unique health and medical research, studies, and products to support society with something completely new than what other universities in Turkey and the world teach.

This planning is followed by the provision of modern technical equipment that helps students complete their academic studies to be worthy of them in the labor market.

However, the task does not fall only on the shoulders of the students, but also on the faculty who conduct research, the results of which are put into practice to develop university programs of study that are compatible with international standards.
