Bilkent University in Turkey was ranked 54th in the ranking compiled by Times Higher Education in Asia in 2018, and is considered among the top three universities in Turkey.
It is the first private, non-profit university in Turkey. This university is located in the Turkish capital, Ankara.
When was Bilkent University founded?
– It was founded on October 20, 1984, by Professor Dr. İhsan Doğramacı, with the primary goal of establishing a center of excellence in higher education and scientific research.
The name “Bilkent” embodies this goal, as it is an abbreviation of “bilim kenti”: which means “city of learning and science” in Turkish.

Bilkent University accepted its first students in 1986, and during its first year it included 360 undergraduate students, in addition to postgraduate students.

Bilkent University has a safe campus with an ideal educational environment and was built in the middle of nature, surrounded by trees on all sides, on an internal area of 500 thousand square meters.
