Applying to public universities through comparison
Turkish public universities open registration independently, each university individually, so that each university announces an application date that often extends for a week or a little more, and a date for the results to be issued.
The number of public universities in Turkey is 131, as there is no state in Turkey that does not have at least one university. The most important thing that makes these universities a center of attraction for students from abroad is that their tuition fees are low. Tuition fees for foreign students start from $500 per year.
Obstacles to studying in public universities:
- Registration takes place on specific dates. Some students have not received their results
- Some universities require the YOS exam, especially for medical specialties
- Most majors are taught in Turkish, or are divided into 30% English and 70% Turkish. There are also majors taught entirely in English.
