About the university
Eastern Mediterranean University was established in 1979. It is an international university subject to government supervision and support and offers university programs for the undergraduate and postgraduate levels (Master’s and Doctorate).
The university was ranked among the top 600 universities in the world for the year 2021 according to the Times World Ranking Times Higher Education World University Rankings
Thanks to its advanced infrastructure and prominent faculty members, the number of university graduates has reached 64,000 graduates from various study programs.
Eastern Mediterranean University offers high-quality education in 108 bachelor’s programs and 103 postgraduate programs (Master’s and PhD) offered in 12 faculties, 4 institutes (diploma or technical diploma), the School of Foreign Languages and the School of English Language Preparation.
Eastern Mediterranean University is proud of its 20,000 students from 104 different nationalities and 1,100 professors from 35 different countries.

The mission and vision of the university
Eastern Mediterranean University has set its goal to become a university that operates in line with universal values, guided by internationally recognized academic educational standards, offering solutions to regional and international problems with a sense of social responsibility, raising graduates who have internalized multiculturalism, free thinking, tolerance and participation as well as doing work to bring about International improvements in the fields of production, science, arts and sports.
The vision of Eastern Mediterranean University is to provide high-quality education based on scientific production, and to become a leading and most preferred university by students and faculty within its unique geographical location that joins three continents.
